HERVs are a class of multiple sclerosis associated retroviruses.
Reacts with a replication competent Human Endogenous Retrovirus (HERVW) isolated from placenta.
The synthetic peptide sequence used as immunogen is taken from the virus envelope polyprotein sequence.
Retroviral envelope proteins mediate receptor recognition and membrane fusion during early infection.
Endogenous envelope proteins may have kept, lost or modified their original function during evolution.
The HERVW endogenous envelope protein has retained its original fusogenic properties and participates in trophoblast fusion during placenta morphogenesis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:250-1:500Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
