Poly-(ADP-Ribose) Polymerase (PARP) is a 116kD nuclear protein which is strongly activated by binding to DNA strand breaks.
PARP plays a role in DNA repair as well as in other cellular processes, including DNA replication, cell proliferation and differentiation.
During apoptosis, ICE family members, such as caspase-3 and -7, cleave PARP to yield an 85kD and a 25kD fragment.
PARP cleavage is considered to be one of the classical characteristics of apoptosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Positive Control:HeLa and jurkat cells treated with staurosporine.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
