Glutamate receptors are the major excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system (CNS).
They play critical roles in the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity and in the development of the nervous system.
In addition, these receptors may be involved in the neuronal cell death that occurs in several neuropathological conditions.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1-3ug/ml using paraformaldehyde or paraformaldehyde/glutaraldehyde fixed tissue with light and electron microscopy.
Cryostat and vibratome sections can be used with or without Triton X-100 treatment.
Western Blot: 1:1000 detects glutamate receptor 2 and 3 on 10ug of rat brain lysate.l.
Immunoprecipitation: Linked to immobilized Protein A immunoprecipitates detergent-solubilized receptor from brain or transfected cells.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Control:Human brain tissue and extracts from mouse brain and rat brain tissue.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

No crossreaction with GluR1 or GluR4. Species Crossreactivity: human, mouse, guinea pig, monkey, gerbil and hamster.
