Mouse Connexin 40 is a 358aa gap junction protein with a predicted M.W.
of ~40kD.
It is prominently expressed in lung, heart and skin (see reviews: Kumar & Giula 1996; White, 1995; Evans, 1994; Beyer, 1990; Henneman, 1992; Traub, 1994; Goliger & Paul 1994).
One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell.
A connexon is composed of a hexamer of connexins.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000 detected Connexin 40 in 10ug of Jurkat lysates
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 detected Connexin 40 immunoreactivity associated with the gap junction between the cardiac myoepithial cells in mouse heart tissue sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
