CLOCK, a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH)/PAS protein, is an important factor in the molecular clock mechanism.
Mutations in this protein lead to abnormal circadian behavior and defective transcriptional activity.
CLOCK has been shown to interact strongly with other bHLH-PAS proteins such as MOP3, a BMAL1 isoform.
