oltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death.
The isoform alpha-1A gives rise to P and/or Q-type calcium currents.
P/Q-type calcium channels belong to the high-voltage activated (HVA) group and are blocked by the funnel toxin (Ftx) and by the omega-agatoxin- IVA (omega-Aga-IVA).
They are however insensitive to dihydropyridines (DHP), and omega-conotoxin-GVIA (omega-CTx-GVIA).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Reported to be suitable for Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.

Immunohistochemistry: Rat brain sectionsNote: In preparing full-length protein samples the procedures should be performed at 4°C, with the following protease inhibitor mixture: pepstatin A (1ug/ml), leupeptin (1ug/ml), aprotinin (1ug/ml), Pefabloc SC (0.2mM), benzamidine (0.1mg/ml), and calpain inhibitors I and II (8ug/ml each) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Control Antigen Included:C2097-85E1: 40ug of control antigen.
The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100ul of sterile deionized water.
For negative control, preincubate 1ug of peptide with 10ug of antibody for one hour at room temperature.
Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
