Prepro-orexin is 130 amino acid long peptide with a putative 33aa secretory sequence, a hydrophobic core followed by residues with small polar side chains.
The expression was detected in brain and to a small extent in testis.
These neuropeptides bind and activate two closely related Orexin receptors—G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) OX1R and OX2R..
Orexins (Orexin A and Orexin B) are a family of hypothalamic neuropeptides selectively expressed in the hypothalamus.
Orexin A and Orexin B are derived from the same precursor (Prepro-orexin) by proteolytic cleavage.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA.
Western Blot, though not tested, may potentially be used as an application.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000; Use 50-100ng of control peptide/well
Western Blot: 1-1000-1:5000l using ECL
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Control Peptide:O7502-10
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
