Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins), which integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, are composed of an alpha, a beta, and a gamma subunit.
These subunits are encoded by families of related genes.
This gene encodes a beta subunit.
Beta subunits are important regulators of alpha subunits, as well as of certain signal transduction receptors and effectors.
This gene contains a trinucleotide (CCG) repeat length polymorphism in its 5' UTR.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 detects the G protein beta subunits in 20ug of a cell lysate prepared from rat brain microsomal preparation
Immunoprecipitation: 10ul immunoprecipitates the G protein beta subunit from 0.5-1mg of a lysate prepared from rat brain microsomal preparation
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
