IGFBP-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-1) is produced by the liver and regulated by glucocorticoids and insulin at the level of gene transcription.
The N-terminal and C-terminal regions are highly homologous among rat, human and bovine sequences.
IGFBP-1 inhibits IGF binding to cell surface receptors and thereby inhibits IGF-mediated mitogenic and cell metabolic actions.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000 detects 10ng SDS-denatured human IGFBP-1
Immunoprecipitation: 1:500 precipitates >90% of 10ng IGFBP-1.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
