Lactate dehydrogenase is also known as L-lactate dehydrogenase A chain, LDH-A, LDH muscle subunit and LDH-M.
Two isozymes of LDH occur in mammals, LDH-M and LDH-H which come together to form a tetramer of 36kDa subunits.
Every LDH molecule consists of four subunits where each subunit is either H or M.
There are then, five LDHisotypes: LDH-1 (4H) found in heart; LDH-2 (3H1M) found in reticuloendothelial system; LDH-3 (2H2M) found in lung; LDH-4 (1H3M) in kidney and LDH-5 (4M) found in liver and striated muscle.
Usually LDH-2 is the predominant form in serum.
An LDH-1 level higher than LDH-2 suggests damage to heart tissues.
LDH is a cytoplasmic enzyme as determined by Western Blot.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Grade:Highly Purified
Purity:Purified by delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography.
Form:Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.2, 0.01% sodium azide. No stabilizing proteins added. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH2O.
Specificity:Recognizes rabbit Lactate Dehydrogenase. Assay by IEP resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum as well as purified and partially purified Lactate Dehydrogenase [rabbit muscle]. BLAST analysis was perform to determine that crossreactivity is suggested for both muscle and heart isoforms (LDH-A and LDH-B)from most mammalian species.
