Discription：IL-38,belongs to the IL-1 family,expresses in the fetal skin, spleen and tonsil, mostly in the basal epithelia of skin and in proliferating B cells of the tonsil. IL-38 can bind soluble IL-1 receptor type 1 and may be involved in the regulation of adapted and innate immune responses. Alone, does not induce cytokine production, but reduces IL22 and IL17A production by T-cells in response to heat-killed Candida albicans. Reduces IL36γ-induced production of IL8 by peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Increases IL6 production by dendritic cells stimulated by bacterial lipopolysaccharides （LPS） . Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same Protein have been reported. Recombinant human IL-38 is a 16.9kDa protein containing 152 amino acid residues.
