Discription：Human CCL8, also known as monocyte chemotactic protein 2 （MCP-2） , is belonging to the CC chemokine family hat signal through CCR2 and, with the exception of MCP-1, other CCR receptors. It is encoded by the gene CCL8. MCP-2 has two homogeneous MCP-1 （CCL2） and MCP-3 （CCL7） . These three MCPs were found by IL-1- beta triggered human MG-63 osteosarcoma cells. CCL8 shares 62 ％ amino acid sequence identity with MCP-1, and shares 58 ％ amino acid sequence identity with MCP-2. CCL8 has chemotactic function for monocytes, eosinophils and neutrophils. In addition, it can also chemoattract activated NK cells but not monocytes or neutrophils. The MCP family cross-reacts across species. Recombinant Human MCP-2 （CCL8） is an 8.9kDa protein containing 76 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines.
