Discription:Human FGF-acidic, member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, is a growth factor and signaling protein encoded by the FGF1 gene. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. FGF-acidic is a non-glycosylated heparin binding growth factor that is expressed in the brain, kidney, retina, smooth muscle cells, bone matrix, osteoblasts, astrocytes and endothelial cells. FGF-acidic has the ability to signal through all the FGF receptors. Recombinant Human FGF-acidic is a 16.0kDa protein consisting of 141 amino acid.
