The FTO gene is the most robust gene for common obesity characterized to date.
FTO gene expression has been found to be significantly upregulated in the hypothalamus of rats after food deprivation and strongly negatively correlated with the expression of orexin peptide which is involved in the stimulation of food intake (Fredricksson R et al., 2008).
Deletion analysis of FTO gene in mice showed that FTO is functionally involved in the control of both energy intake and energy expenditure (Fischer J et al., 2009).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:600Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
