• Non-structural protein 1 (UniProt: Q4QZ06; also known as NS1) is encoded by the NS1 (also known as NS) gene (Gene ID: 956533) in Influenza A virus.
• Influenza A virus (IAV) is a highly contagious member of Orthomyxoviridae family.
• The non-structural protein NS1 is a well conserved protein that is expressed at high levels in infected cells.
• It is a multifunctional protein associated with various viral functions including mRNA processing, inhibition of cellular apoptosis, limiting interferon production, and inhibition of mRNA splicing.
• The RBD domain binds with several RNA species with low affinity and the effector domain predominantly interacts with host-cell proteins and stabilizes the RBD domain.
• 052403 recognizes multiple strains of H5N1 influenza virus.
• It exhibits high affinity for the RBD of NS1 protein (Kd = 43.5 nM).
• Threonine 49 (T49) residue in NS1 that forms a direct hydrogen bond with the double stranded RNA is reported to be critical in its interaction with this antibody.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Neutralization and Inhibition Assays.
