Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a 180kD soluble protein serving as an antigen-specific unit of mast cell effector mechanisms.
IgE has the lowest serum concentration of all immunoglobulins (approximately 0.5 mg/l) in healthy individuals, but upon allergen challenge its concentration in blood increases dramatically.
Although biological survival of free IgE is very short (T1/2 = 2 days), it is stabilized after binding to its high affinity receptor.
Unlike IgM- IgG- and IgA-committed B cells, IgE-switched B cells do not undergo clonal expansion.
Applications:Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Flow Cytometry: 4ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4℃ if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable at -20℃ for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
