GSK3B is a serine-threonine kinase and a member of the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily.
It is a negative regulator of the hormonal control of glucose, Wnt signaling and also transcriptional factors and microtubules.
It has been associated with regulation of several cellular mechanisms such as glycogen synthesis, protein synthesis, cell proliferation, microtubules stabilization, cell migration, autophagy and apoptosis.
GSK3B is activated by phosphorylation at tyrosine 216 and inactivated by phosphorylation at serine 9.
Defects on GSK3B has been associated with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry.
