The thymidine analogue BrdU (5-Bromo-2-Deoxyuridine), a derivative of uridine, can substitute for thymidine during DNA synthesis.
The detection of BrdU incorporation into DNA provides a common method to quantify newly synthesized DNA and identify cells in the S-phase of the cell cycle.
The use of BrdU incorporation in proliferation assays facilitates the study of DNA repair, sister chromatid exchange, and the cytokinetics of normal and neoplastic cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 10ug/mlFlow Cytometry: 10ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
