Omalizumab is a humanized antibody used to reduce sensitivity to inhaled or ingested allergens, especially in the control of moderate to severe allergic asthma which does not respond to high doses of corticosteroids.
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) found in mammals only exists as monomers consisting of two heavy chains (epsilon chain) and two light chains, with the ε chain containing 4 Ig-like constant domains (Cepsilon1-Cepsilon4).
In addition to immunity to parasites, IgE plays an essential role in type I hypersensitivity, which manifests various allergic diseases, and allergic conditions, such as anaphylactic reactions to certain drugs, bee stings, and antigen preparations used in specific desensitization immunotherapy.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Neutralization, Blocking and Functional Assays.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Form:Supplied as a 0.2uM filtered solution. No stabilizers or preservatives added.
Specificity:Recognizes human IgE. This Omalizumab biosimilar specifically binds to the human immunoglobulin E (IgE) free in the blood and interstitial fluid and to membrane-bound form of IgE (mIgE) on the surface of mIgE-expressing B lymphocytes. Unlike an ordinary anti-IgE antibody, omalizumab does not bind to IgE that is already bound by the high affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) on the surface of mast cells, basophils, and antigen-presenting dendritic cells.
