Glut4 belongs to the facilitative glucose transporter protein family that comprises 13 members.
It is an integral membrane protein with 12 transmembrane domains.
Glut4 is expressed in the insulin-responsive tissues, muscle and adipose tissue.
Insulin stimulation leads to translocation of Glut4 from intracellular stores to the cell surface resulting in the enhancement of glucose uptake.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml in immersion fixed L6 rat myoblast cell line (differentiated to muscle)Immunohistochemistry: 5-25ug/ml in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of rat heart tissueOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
