The nuclear pore complex, a large protein complex that spans the double membrane of the nuclear envelope.
Nuclear pores allow the transport of macromolecules, such as RNA, ribosomes or proteins between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.
The nucleopore complex contains approximately 30 different proteins and has a molecular mass of approximately 120mD.
