• The TATA-binding protein, also known as TBP or Tata Binding Protein, is the general transcription factor that functions at the core of the DNA-binding multiprotein factor TFIID.
• Binding of TFIID to the TATA box is the initial transcriptional step of the pre-initiation complex (PIC), which plays a role in the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II.
• This protein is a component of the transcription factor SL1/TIF-IB complex, which is involved in the assembly of the PIC during RNA polymerase I-dependent transcription.
• The rate of PIC formation is assumed to be primarily dependent on the rate of the association of SL1 with the rDNA promoter.
• SL1 is involved in stabilization of nucleolar transcription factor 1/UBTF on rDNA.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Gel Supershift.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1- 1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
