Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is an enzyme commonly used as an indicator for chemical reactions which produce peroxide.
The enzyme is routinely conjugated to antibodies for use in enzyme-base immunoassay systems.
HRP functions in the removal of hydrogen peroxide, oxidation of toxic reductants, biosynthesis and degradation of lignin, suberization, auxin catabolism, response to environmental stresses such as wounding, pathogen attack and oxidative stress.
These functions might be dependent on each isozyme/isoform in each plant tissue.
HRP binds one heme B (iron-protoporphyrin IX) group and two calcium ions per monomeric subunit.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunocytochemistry: staining of formaldehyde-fixed, Triton-permeabilized cells transfected with HRP gene
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4℃ for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20℃.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
