概要:The HTR-8/SVneo cell line, established in 1992, is derived from human first-trimester placental trophoblasts.
Originating from chorionic villi explants, these cells were immortalized through transfection with simian virus 40 large T antigen gene, leading to an epithelial-like morphology.
Exhibiting markers indicative of extravillous invasive trophoblasts, such as IGF-II, NDOG-5, PCNA, W6/32 antigen, and a specific array of integrins (alpha 1, alpha 3, alpha 5, alpha v, beta 1, and the alpha v beta 3/beta 5 vitronectin receptor), HTR-8/SVneo cells are negative for macrophage marker 63/D3, endothelial marker factor VIII, and integrins alpha 6 and beta 4.
These cells provide a robust model for investigating the intricacies of trophoblast biology and placental function, contributing to our understanding of placental pathologies such as preeclampsia and trophoblastic tumors due to their unique profile of tumorigenicity, antigen expression, and dual epithelial/mesenchymal characteristics.
