This cell line can produce a vector encoding the human placental alkaline phosphatase gene and the neomycin resistance gene, which can infect mouse cells.
Infected cells express alkaline phosphatase that can be detected histochemically and thus being traced in vivo.
Helper virus may be produced by this cell line.
