- 概要:L-929 cells are a type of adherent mouse fibroblast cell line often used as an alternate test system for toxicity assessment.
- NCTC clone 929 (L-929) is one of the first cloned strains developed from the parent L strain and was established from the 95th subculture generation using the capillary technique for single-cell isolation.
- The spontaneously immortalized parent L strain originates from the subcutaneous areolar and adipose tissue of a C3H/An mouse.
- L-929 cells are small in size, ranging from 5-10 micrometres, and exhibit adherent growth properties.
- The karyotype of these cells includes a modal chromosome number of 66, with a range of 65 to 68, and approximately 20 to 30 marker chromosomes present in each metaphase spread.
- However, cytogenetic instability has been reported in the literature for some cell lines.
