Human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) is one of seven known coronaviruses to infect humans.
Likely originated from bats, it is an enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus which enters its host cell by binding to the APN receptor.
Along with Human coronavirus OC43 (a member of the Betacoronavirus genus), it is one of the viruses responsible for the common cold.
The spike protein of HCoV-229E is a trimer with subunits S1 and S2 responsible for host receptor binding and fusion of the viral and host cell membranes, respectively.
特徴
This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag (Avitag).
The protein has a calculated MW of 128.4 kDa.
The protein migrates as 180 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE).
