Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG), is a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily.
MOG is a myelin protein exclusively expressed in the CNS at the outermost surface of myelin sheaths and oligodendrocyte membranes.
This makes MOG a potential target of cellular and humoral immune responses in inflammatory demyelinating diseases.
Due to its late postnatal developmental expression, MOG is an important marker for oligodendrocyte maturation.

The protein has a calculated MW of 18.2 kDa.
The protein migrates as 21-25 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
