The MAML2 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human MAML2 gene located on chromosome band 11q21.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other MAML2 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements of MAML2 – also known as MAM2, MAM3, MAM-3, or MLL-MAML2 – have since been found in various types of malignancies, including mucoepidermoid carcinomas, Warthins tumors, cler cell hidradenomas, and other predominantly soft tissue cancers.
