The NELFA/CCP4 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human NELFA gene located on chromosome band 4p16.3, along with the number of chromosome 4 copies per cell.
Altered expression of this gene – also known as WHSC2, NELF-A or P/OKcl.15 – has been observed in some malignancies.
The gene is also located within the critical region of which various lengths are typically deleted in Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS) and Pitt-Rogers-Danks microdeletion syndrome individuals.
The probe also covers most of the region of the NSD2 gene - also called WHS, TRX5, KMT3F, KMT3G, MMSET, WHSC1 or REIIBP.
