The BRCA1/CCP17 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human BRCA1 gene located on chromosome band 17q21.31 along with the number of CCP17 copies per cell.
Mutations of this gene – also known as IRIS, PSCP, BRCAI, BRCC1, FANCS, PNCA4, RNF53, BROVCA1, PPP1R53 - are a major cause of familial breast and ovarian cancers; mutations and copy number abnormalities have been observed in various other solid tumor types.
