The RAD51B Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human RAD51B gene located on chromosome band 14q24.1.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other RAD51B aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements of the RAD51B gene – also known as REC2, R51H2 or RAD51L1 – have been observed in uterine leiomyomata, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, breast cancer, melanoma and other malignancies.
