The P2RY8 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human P2RY8 gene mapping to chromosome band Xp22.33 and Yp11.3.
The gene maps to the pseudoautosomal region 1 (PAR1) of chromosomes X and Y.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other P2RY8 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the P2RY8 gene – also known as P2Y8 – have been observed in B-cell lymphomas, pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and other malignancies and neoplastic predisposition syndromes.
