The UBE3A/CCP15 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human UBE3A gene located on chromosome band 15q11.2, along with the number of chromosome 15 copies per cell.
Abnormalities of this gene – also known as AS, ANCR, PIX1, E6-AP, HPVE6A, EPVE6AP – have been observed in cervical cancer as well as in breast and prostate cancer.
Deletion or mutations of this gene are found in Angelman syndrome, a severe neurological disorder.
