The CCPX/CCPY FISH Probe Kit is designed to simultaneously determine the copy number of human chromosomes X and Y, and to detect copy number aberrations in these chromosomes, in metaphase and interphase blood and tissue cells.
Sex chromosome aneuploidies are common prenatal chromosomal aberrations.
While the panel can also reveal other copy number defects and other anomalies, a diverse range of specific abnormalities may not be detected by this panel such as localized inversions or balanced intrachromosomal translocations, centromeric polymorphisms, some microdeletions or microduplications, and other defect types.
