The MAF Break Apart LR （long range） FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human MAF gene mapping to chromosome band 16q23.2.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other MAF1 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the MAF gene – also known as CCA4, AYGRP, c-MAF or CTRCT21 - have been observed in multiple myeloma and other malignancies.
