The PHF1 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human PHF1 gene located on chromosome band 6p21.32.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other PHF1 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and altered expression of this gene – also known as PCL1, PHF2, hPHF1, MTF2L2 or TDRD19C – have been observed in a number of carcinomas and other malignancies.
