The KRAS/CCP12 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human KRAS gene located on chromosome band 12p12.1, along with the number of chromosome 12 copies per cell.
Abnormal expression or rearrangements of the KRAS gene – also known as K-RAS or c-Ki-ras 2 – has been observed in various tumor types such as pancreas, colon and rectum, lung, thyroid, prostate, kidney and others.
Aberrations of the gene have also been spotted in acute non lymphocytic leukemia and myelodysplasia.
