The KIT/CCP4 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human KIT gene located on chromosome band 4q12, along with the number of chromosome 4 copies per cell.
Abnormal expression or rearrangements of the KIT gene – also known as SCFR or CD117 – has been observed in various cancer types and disorders such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), melanoma, small cell lung cancer, testicular carcinoma, familial gastrointestinal stromal tumors, systemic mast cell disease, piebaldism and other malignancies.
