The KIF5B Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human KIF5B gene located on chromosome band 10p11.22.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other KIF5B aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the CKIF5B gene – also known as KNS, KINH, KNS1, UKHC or HEL-S-61 – have been observed in lung adenocarcinoma and other tumor types.
