The FGFR4 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human FGFR4 gene located on chromosome band 5q35.2.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other FGFR4 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the FGFR4 gene – also known as CD334, JTK2 or TKF – have been observed in various cancer types such as prostate cancer, melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer and others.
