The MN1 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human MN1 gene located on chromosome band 22q12.1.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other MN1 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the MN1 gene – also known as dJ353E16.2, MGCR1-PEN, MGCR1 or MGCR – have been observed in myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), meningioma and other malignancies.
