The TRA Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human T cell receptor alpha (TRA) locus located on chromosome band 14q11.2.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the locus, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other TRA aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the TRA locus – also known as IMD7, TCRA, TCRD, TRA@ or TRAC – have been observed in a number of adult and pediatric T-cell leukemias and other malignancies.
