Loss or abnormal expression of the PTEN gene – also known as BZS, DEC, CWS1, GLM2, MHAM, TEP1, MMAC1, PTEN1 or 10q23del – is common in gliomas and prostate cancer and has been observed in a variety of other heritable and sporadic tumor types and conditions.
