The WT1 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human WT1 gene located on chromosome band 11p13.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other WT1 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the WT1 gene – also known as GUD, AWT1, WAGR, WT33, NPHS4, WIT-2 or EWS-WT1 – have been observed in Wilms' tumor and other tumor types and conditions.
