The PAX7 Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human PAX7 gene located on chromosome band 1p36.13.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other PAX7 aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the PAX7 gene – also known as HUP1, RMS2 or PAX7B – have been observed in alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS) and other tumor types and conditions.
