The YWHAE Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements in the human YWHAE gene located on chromosome band 17p13.3.
In addition to revealing breaks, which can lead to translocation of parts of the gene, inversion, or its fusion to other genes, the probe set can also be used to identify other YWHAE aberrations such as deletions or amplifications.
Rearrangements and abnormal expression of the YWHAE gene – also known as MDS, HEL2, MDCR, KCIP-1 or 14-3-3E – have been observed in lung adenocarcinoma, endometrial stromal sarcoma and other tumor types.
