The EML4-ALK Fusion/Translocation FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect rearrangements involving the human EML4 and ALK genes, located on chromosome bands 2p21 and 2p23.2, respectively.
Fusion between the two genes (EML4 – also known as C2orf2, ELP120, EMAP-4, EMAPL4 or ROPP120 – and ALK – also known as CD246 or NBLST3) is a common event in a subset of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cases.
