• TheSparkFunQwiicMinidToFTMF8820Imagerisadirecttime-of-flight（dToF）sensorthatincludesasinglemodularpackagewithanassociatedVerticalCavitySurfaceEmittingLaser（VCSEL）fromAMS.ThedToFdeviceisbasedonSinglePhotonAvalanchePhotodiode（SPAD）,time-to-digitalconverter（TDC）andhistogramtechnologytoachievea5000mmdetectionrange.DuetoitslensontheSPAD,itsupports3x3multizoneoutputdataandaverywide,dynamicallyadjustablefieldofview.Amulti-lens-array（MLA）insidethepackageabovetheVCSELwidensuptheFoI（fieldofillumination）.Allprocessingoftherawdataisperformedon-chipandtheTMF8820providesdistanceinformationtogetherwithconfidencevaluesonitsI2Cinterface.Thehighperformanceon-chipopticalfilterblocksmostoftheambientlight,andenablesdistancemeasurementsindarkandsunlightenvironments.
• Tomakeiteveneasiertogetyourreadings,allcommunicationisenactedexclusivelyviaI2C,utilizingourhandyQwiicsystemsonosolderingisrequiredtoconnectittotherestofyoursystem.However,westillhavebrokenout0.1"-spacedpinsincaseyouprefertouseabreadboard.TheTMF8820offerstwoconfigurableGPIOpinsandoneenable（EN）pin,whicharebrokenoutasPTHpads.TheboardalsoincludesapowerLEDandI2Cpull-upresistors,eachconfigurableviajumpers.ThisMiniversionhasafootprintthatishalfthesize（0.5in.x1.0in.）ofourstandardQwiicMinidToFTMF8820Imagerboard.Additionally,wemovedtheQwiicconnectorstothebackoftheboard.ThesedesignchangesfavormountingapplicationswheretheTMF8820sensorfacesoutwardfromanenclosureorchassis,andkeepsyourQwiiccablescleanlytuckedaway.
