• ThisSparkFunDistanceSensorBreakoututilizestheVL53L4CDnextgenerationToF（TimeofFlight）sensormoduletogiveyouthehighlyaccuratemeasurementsatshortrangesforitssize.TheVL53L4CDfromSTMicroelectronicsusesaVCSEL（VerticalCavitySurfaceEmittingLaser）toemitaninfraredlasertotimethereflectiontothetarget.Thatmeansthatyouwillbeabletomeasurethedistancetoanobjectfrom1mmto1300mmawaywithmillimeterresolution！Tomakeiteveneasiertogetyourreadings,allcommunicationisenactedexclusivelyviaI2C,utilizingourhandyQwiicsystemsonosolderingisrequiredtoconnectittotherestofyoursystem.However,westillhavebrokenout0.1"-spacedpinsincaseyouprefertouseabreadboard.
• EachVL53L4CDsensorfeaturesaprecisiontobe1mmwithanaccuracyaround+/-7mm（whitetarget：88％,indoor,noinfrared）andaminimumreaddistanceofthissensoris1mm.Thefieldofviewforthislittlebreakouthasatypicalfullfieldofviewof18°withareadrateofupto100Hz.Makesuretopowerthisboardappropriatelysinceitwillneed2.6V-3.5Vtooperate.Lastly,pleasebesuretoremovetheprotectivestickerontheVL53L4CDbeforeuseotherwiseitwill,mostassuredly,throwoffyourreadings.
